So the pay off for the backlinks is huge, especially to Google because they take into account the difficulty of getting one approved.

Re: 750+ Dofollow/Nofollow Forum List

No problem. I'll be updating the list in a little while, but since I compile and organize everything on my own, its become more of a free time effort. As you can see, its a lot of links to go through, when you update, reorganize and resort the url list.<br>Thanks for the feedback.

Re: 750+ Dofollow/Nofollow Forum List

wow..lots of dofollow sites. It is not just that you have to make more clicks, you also have to retype your query which is often one or two sentences long (e.g. title of journal article). Now consider that those who work in a university use this feature more than two dozen of times each day and you see how dropping Scholar makes the new menu bar less user friendly.

Re: 750+ Dofollow/Nofollow Forum List

Geeh, I was actually having a heard time finding a reliable forum site. There is the rank of the source page, the reputation of the source domain, the OBL number of that page, etc. The more sources from the same niche the better, even as few as just one backlink per source will be beneficial, not to mention that Google will only index a certain number of backlinks from any one source domain, even if all the backlinks are perfectly legitimate and have high rankings.

Re: Proper Backlink Building Through Blog Commenting

The article is more of a general statement, because most websites that allow comments use a spam filter that blocks comments with html code imbedded. They see it as spam. However, there are a considerable number of SEO friendly blogs that give instructions on how to leave your link. More often then not, it will be as your commenting title name, rather than within the comment. If you can pull off a comment with a backlink within the text then by all means do so, but just because you can doesn't mean you won't get flagged, that's my experience, so I don't recommend it unless the site states specifically. Keep in mind that bigger sites are usually the ones that par-take in this because they can afford the high OBL amount.

Re: Proper Backlink Building Through Blog Commenting

I haven't really been bothered much with link building in the past and my main site is about 2 years old and getting good traffic. The last three months however, I have really gotten into blog commenting - it's the only place I have actively tried to get links. I don't care what the pr of the site is, whether the link I get is dofollow or nofollow - I don't really care. In fact I never ever even bother to look!<br><br>What I care about is whether I enjoy the blog I am reading, and want to come back again and again. As I said on another comment on this blog, my site pr went from 0 to 2 in Feb 2012 just by actively getting involved on less than a dozen sites that I really like and trying to add decent discussion to the article at hand. It adds good value/content for the author who wrote the article, maybe it gives me a dofollow link, maybe it doesn't. <br><br>PR isn't everything anyway, I haven't cared about it much in the past and I have sites with zero pr that can rank really well for highly competitive key phrases. I think if most people just concentrate on creating good content and information on subjects they really enjoy and participate in a community of blogs that they are interested in whether related to their site or not, then the traffic and dollars will eventually come without them having to trick Google into anything nor have to buy their way in.<br><br>Perhaps Ms Google understands that if it finds 1000 links to your site from 1000 different blogs to not pay it attention, but pays attention to multiple links wrapped around some decent text, coming from a couple of handfuls of sites you enjoy?

Re: Next Google PageRank Update Supposedly Coming Soon

My site finally got off the mark on 6th feb (well was 7th of Feb here in OZ) and went from zero to two.

Re: Proper Backlink Building Through Blog Commenting

quick question, i thought it was considered good practice to leave an anchor text link within the comment field using the your main keyword. But from your article it says that's a bad idea? Could you clarify this please. Are you saying instead of using an anchor text, it is better to put the web page link in the URL field?
